This is a picture of a color monitor in the remote sensing lab on campus. In 1985, it was the first time I'd ever seen something that could reasonably be called digital photography. This image is an elevation map. It was being studied to determine rain drainage patterns. The monitor was connected to a VAX 11/750; it took more than a minute to load an image. I recall the resolution was 512 by 512.
