Austrian photographer Ernst Haas developed techniques for photographing motion with blurry photographs. He shot bullfighting and birds in flight with long exposures, going against the prevailing theory that sharpness and technical perfection was the ultimate goal of photography. I sometimes give it a try. A couple of my better ones are pictures of my niece Leah, one from 1999, and one from 2005. This picture of Joanna is pretty good as well, though the reflection of the spotlight blew out the bottom left.
