Testing the second module for Lumiere's candles, just finished about 2:30 am. The LEDs in this picture provide all the light -- they are bright. I would not normally let a project run so late before opening night but I've only been working on this one three days, and the LEDs only arrived this morning ($25 overnight shipping for $15 of LEDs). A thin fabric will be pulled over the fan to flicker in the wind, and the LEDs will be turned to light it. Done right it looks impressively like a flame. All this has to be powered by battery, which must last the show reliably. By my calculation this module (one of two) pulls slightly less than 4 Watts. Together, the modules will draw about 0.64 amps at 12 volts; the battery is rated for 2.2 amp-hours so the expected endurance is over 3 hours. With charging between uses, it should easily last through the in-costume breakfast and two performances scheduled for Saturday.

I'm so tired I'm about to drop unconcious. But I can still divide. Go figure. (Wow, I really am tired, that actually made me laugh.)
