Common wisdom advises that wide angles make poor portrait lenses, and that is usually correct. But there are exceptions. This series of shots was taken at 12mm, which is a step beyond mere ultra-wide into some kind of uncharted super-ultra-wide universe. The views and effects it can achieve are somewhat unique. I love the ambiguity these shots carry - the top half looks right side up, but the bottom half is clearly upside down.
